Chamber to host free program on Industry 4.0

WAUSAU — The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce will host a free program on how rapidly advancing technologies and the internet of things will shape the complexity of Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0 is the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the next phase in the digitization of the manufacturing sector. The event will be held in Room E101 at Northcentral Technical College at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 15. The program will feature consultant Mo Abuali and Matt Kirchner, President of ATS/LAB Midwest. The pair will offer a deeper understanding of the varied technologies that every person and organization must be familiar with.

“The 21st century economy is rapidly advancing through digital transformation,” said Dave Eckmann, President/CEO of the Chamber. “To remain competitive, businesses in every industry sector require a better understanding of the technology at hand and where it is heading. This program is intended as an important first step.”

Abuali has more than 23 years of experience in consulting, serving industrial and manufacturing clients on Industry 4.0, industrial internet of things and digital transformation technology solutions, services and training. He has worked with companies like IBM, Proctor & Gamble and Toyota.

Kirchner is an international speaker, author and podcast host on topics of interest to educators, public policymakers and private employers. Kirchner hosts the weekly TechEd Podcast, featuring leaders in industry and education, and serves as President of ATS/LAB Midwest, the leading distributor of world-class curriculum, eLearning and training equipment. Previously, Kirchner led three world-class manufacturing companies during a 20-plus year career as an industrial CEO.

The program is free and open to both members and non-members, but registration is required. For more information or to register, visit WausauChamber.com.
