Session Theme: Community Non-Profit Impacts

This session, we will hear from United Way and how they impact our community on a daily basis!

MaiGer Moua is the Director of Community Impact at United Way of Marathon County. In her role, she oversees the Investment Process, the Hunger Coalition, and the Housing Task Force. She previously worked for United Way as the 211 Program Director. In between that time, she served on the United Way of Board of Directors and the Investment Team. MaiGer’s prior professional experience includes roles at Northcentral Technical College, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and North Central Health Care. In addition, she was a recipient of 2022’s Women in Vision Award and the 20 Under Forty Award in 2015.
MaiGer grew up in Wausau and returned to the area after living in Madison, where she and her husband are raising their four children ranging between 12 and 4 years of age.

Emily Champine is a community advocate and relationship builder based in Central Wisconsin. As the Affinity Group Coordinator at United Way of Marathon County, she rallies Emerging Leaders and Women United volunteers to advance bold goals that strengthen financial stability across the region.
Emily recently earned her Certification in Volunteer Administration, deepening her commitment to effective, people-centered volunteer engagement. She leads with energy, heart, and a “let’s make it happen” spirit.
Outside of community work, she loves animals, lives for all things fall, enjoys playing Fortnite, and can usually be found with a fantasy novel in hand.
