Habitat for Humanity of Wausau is excited to announce the return of the Holiday Lights Recycle Program! Habitat Wausau takes holiday lights in any condition.  Lights can twinkle or fizzle.  Broken or tangled lights are gladly accepted.  Every strand of lights contributes to increasing homeownership and critical home repairs for low-income families in the greater Wausau area. All lights collected support Habitat’s Home Ownership Program, Critical Home Repairs and Veterans Build in the Wausau area.  This season’s goal is to collect 5,000lbs of holiday lights!  

Collection boxes are convenient locations across the community and will be out now through January 15^th.  Wausau Habitat ReStore takes holiday lights all year round during regular store and donation hours of operation. 

Habitat for Humanity of Wausau has been recycling holiday lights since 2014 and has kept over 46,000lbs of lights out of our local landfill.

About Habitat for Humanity of Wausau:  Since 1990, Habitat for Humanity of Wausau has built 76 homes in our community.  In addition to creating a path to homeownership for low-income families, Habitat Wausau assists with critical home repairs for area residents and proudly supports area Veterans through the Veterans Build program.  Wausau Habitat ReStore is the primary funder for Wausau’s Habitat Home Ownership program.  Donations and in-kind gifts from individuals, businesses and churches are critical to fund our programing.   Wausau Habitat ReStore hours are Wednesday - Friday 10am – 4pm and Saturdays from 9am to 2pm.  Proceeds from Wausau Habitat ReStore support Habitat Wausau programs.
