Prevail Bank Shred Event Helps Animals in Crisis with $1,412 Donation
Turning paper into something powerful, Prevail Bank’s Community Shred Day in Wausau raised $1,412 for the Humane Society of Marathon County, supporting the end of animal suffering throughout the area.
Prevail Bank pledged to donate $1 for every pound of paper shredded, up to $1,000—and the community rose to the challenge, bringing in 2,300 pounds of documents to be safely destroyed and recycled. True to its pledge, Prevail Bank gifted $1,000; the public donated an additional $412.
A special check presentation was held at the Humane Society. Lisa Held, Executive Director (center), accepted the donation from (L to R) Megan Bargender, Prevail Bank Teller Specialist/Security Officer and Stacy Schoepke, Relationship Banker.
“This event was a win-win,” said Branch Manager, Luke Champine. “We helped people protect their personal information while supporting a cause that makes a real difference right here in our community.”
This year, Prevail Bank’s nine Community Shred Day events collected and shredded nearly 9 tons of paper, resulting in $11,387 in donations to nine nonprofits.
Prevail Bank continues to seek meaningful ways to give back and strengthen the communities it serves. From fundraising events to volunteer efforts, the bank remains committed to making central Wisconsin a better place to live, work, and thrive.
