The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin and the Clyde F. Schlueter advisory committee extend their deepest appreciation to Tom Mack for his many years of exceptional service as Chairperson of the Clyde F. Schlueter Fund advisory committee.

The Clyde F. Schlueter Foundation, Inc., originally incorporated on October 10, 1977, has a long and impactful history in the greater Wausau area. Guided first by its founder, Clyde F. Schlueter, the private foundation awarded more than $1 million in grants over nearly 30 years to more than 100 organizations. In 2016, the foundation’s assets were transferred to the Community Foundation, where the fund continues to honor the vision and generosity of Clyde Schlueter through the work of its advisory committee.

For many years, Tom Mack has assisted in stewarding this legacy with care, integrity, and a deep dedication to community well-being. Under his leadership, the advisory committee has faithfully adhered to the foundation’s original intent, supporting initiatives that:

• Serve the greater Wausau area
• Promote the physical, social, intellectual, and mental development of area youth
• Encourage civic improvements and enrich community life

Throughout Tom’s tenure, the committee has continued to advance the mission once outlined by Clyde Schlueter, who identified organizations such as the YMCA, Scouts, Wausau Hospitals, and the University of Wisconsin Foundation as examples of the meaningful impact the foundation sought to support. Tom ensured this spirit endured, guiding thoughtful grant recommendations and upholding funding principles that prioritize transformational community projects.
