Woodson YMCA Announces Staff Promotions and Organizational Structure Enhancements

The Woodson YMCA is proud to announce several staff promotions and strategic organizational structure enhancements designed to recognize the exceptional leadership within the organization and position the Association for continued growth and success.

Over the past several years, the Woodson YMCA has experienced tremendous growth across programs, facilities, and community impact. In response, the organization has created new Association Director roles to strengthen leadership at the Association level, enhance oversight, and ensure consistent standards across both branches , the downtown Wausau Branch and Aspirus Branch in Weston.

Erin Stuart has been promoted to Association Director of Membership & Operations. Erin has been an integral part of the Woodson YMCA team for many years, beginning her career in mini-care and most recently serving as Financial Coordinator.

In her new role, Erin will lead intentional membership strategies, improve operational consistency across branches, and further cultivate a warm and welcoming experience for all members. Her deep institutional knowledge, strong operational skills, and commitment to member service make her exceptionally well-suited for this position.

Abby Tesch has been promoted to Vice President of Program Operations. Abby has driven remarkable growth in aquatics and competitive sports at the Woodson YMCA, strengthening both the Swim and Gymnastics teams and expanding the YMCA’s aquatic footprint to include two additional satellite pools and two seasonal pools.

This promotion reflects Abby’s strong leadership and the significant impact she has made on the Association’s programming. In her expanded role, she will oversee the Association Director of Health & Wellness (Renee Giese), the Association Youth & Family Programming Director (Haley Houghton), the Association Aquatics Director (Ben Wisniewski), the Gymnastics Director (Jackie Buemi), and the Swim Team Coach (Mike McQueen).

Woodson YMCA President/CEO Bryan Bailey shared, “At the Woodson YMCA, our strength has always been our people. Abby Tesch and Erin Stuart are prime examples of this. Their promotions reflect not only their strong performance with our association, but the culture of leadership development we are intentionally building across our association. Their leadership will strengthen our association-wide approach, evaluate the member experience, and position us for sustainable growth.”

As part of the organizational enhancement, Stephanie Daniels will transition into the role of Senior Director of Childcare and Camp Services, focusing exclusively on all licensed programming. Stephanie has been a vital member of the YMCA leadership team for the past eight years, serving in a variety of impactful roles.

In her new position, Stephanie will concentrate on the increasingly complex regulatory requirements associated with licensed childcare and camp services, while also leading strategic growth initiatives in these areas. This change reinforces the YMCA’s commitment to safety, compliance, quality assurance, and long-term sustainability.

Association Director leadership is rounded out by the Marketing & Communications Director (Megan Boettcher), the Finance & Membership Controller (Lynn Wilkowski), the Association Childcare Director (Kelly Pelot), and The Assistant Operations Director of The Landing (Amber Pender). The Woodson YMCA Senior Management Team also includes Chris Nack, Senior Director of Facilities; Traci Wisz, Senior Director of Advancement; and Julie Streufert, Executive Director of The Landing.
